Up above the Alps So High

Standing out like sails of a bespoke fleet of yachts, Mario Botta’s dramatic bienniale-esque glass skylights emerge, gorgeously stark, amidst the snow-white Arosa Alps welcoming you to the Tschuggen Grand Hotel.

A hollow cuboid fireplace subtly studded into the wall greets you at the lobby as you are ushered in. Carlo Rampazzi weaves his trademark magic and creates a blend of cosy corners and airy rooms with huge windows that bring you closer to the magnificence of the surrounding mountains. The plush leather arm chairs and the come-sink-into-me sofas add a chalet-like touch to the interiors. The colour palette imbues earthen warm tones, and the property is peppered with eye-catching modern art.

With 4 signature restaurants, specialty dining takes centerstage. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options are on the menu keeping in tune with the hotel’s sustainability and plant positive initiatives. La Brezza, the newest addition headed by Chef Marco Campanella, is the culinary highlight of this winter where you will be served light and modern gourmet cuisine, with a focus on local and Swiss products.

One of Switzerland’s finest wellness spaces, the Tschuggen Bergoase spa is a true sanctuary to immerse your senses in. Rising like a striking geometric cluster of glass shards, the 5000m.sq spa spreads over four floors with a host of treatment rooms, spa suites, saunas and a solarium. A zen-like calm envelops you as you hear a faint trickle of a water spring throughout. You only have to wait for sundown to see it turn even more ethereal when lit up! 

Ski Zone

With access to more than 200kms of pistes of the Arosa-Lenzerheide area, skiers have it made! But, here is what takes it all to another level. The Tschuggen Grand Hotel has its own private funicular service; step into a futuristic-looking pod that whisks you right from the hotel lobby to any ski slope or trail head, in under 5 minutes! There is even a boot & ski room that you swish in and out of as well as a shop from where you could rent gear, should you need. And, they seem to be blessed with snow from December all the way into April!

Sustainability

With the hospitality industry gearing up to greener practices, the Tschuggen Grand Hotel has been partnering with myclimate foundation and is proud to be completely climate-neutral since 2019. The hotel generates practically no CO2 emissions as their electricity is generated exclusively from alpine hydropower.

Winter Specials

This winter, you have the opportunity of skiing alongside ski legend, Didier Cuche, five-time Kitzbühel winner and world champion who has been invited by the hotel. You can also pick up the latest ski models of the season from HEAD who will set shop in-house and help you with choosing the right equipment for your skiing style.

Take to some snowshoe hikes, try some curling, get a bird’s eye view over Arosa on a paragliding adventure or get atop a horse driven carriage and ride around the mountains of Graubünden! Go extreme, and get some adrenaline rush as you experience ice-bathing in Untersee Lake; don’t worry, you will have your warm-up kit handy when you get out!

With social distancing being the new norm, the hotel is accepting bookings only up to 75% of full capacity, giving guests a sense of more floor space and privacy.
